Lucas was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in March. The oncology team at Arlington Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Lucas is 56, worked as a nurse until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Arlington Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,950 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,650
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,750
• Transport to Arlington Regional Medical Center: $550
