Liang's septoplasty can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled septoplasty in August is out of reach without help covering $3,900 of the cost.

In May I was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc. My surgeon at Québec University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and I have been placed on the schedule for August. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $5,250, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $3,900 short.
Doctors at Québec University Hospital told me a herniated spinal disc will get worse without septoplasty. I work as a call-centre agent, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $5,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a call-centre agent have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $3,900 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $460
• Travel and lodging for the family: $420
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $270
• Physiotherapy sessions: $900
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,850
