Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Khon Kaen
Volunteers in Khon Kaen are raising $1,200 for a rainwater harvesting system at the Lotus health centre yard.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,200.
It will serve about 375 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Materials: $860
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $115
• Tools hire and delivery: $165

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lalita.
Sure. The biggest one is materials, $860. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
More neighborhoods should do this. After 30 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
