Let's build a free library and reading room together in Aberdeen
A community-led a free library and reading room at Pioneer Park that will serve 304 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,750.
It will serve about 304 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Materials: $2,250
• Permits and inspections: $140
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $130
If you're reading this, thank you.

Keep going. Great idea, hope you get there. Greetings from Ribeirão Preto.
rooting for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
