Let's build a community garden together in Rome
Volunteers in Rome are raising $2,250 for a community garden at the Jacaranda health centre yard.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,250.
It will serve about 143 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Materials: $1,450
• Permits and inspections: $300
• Safety equipment and signage: $280
• Tools hire and delivery: $220
