The gas account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless I pay $100. I have never been late before losing my job in May. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $15 first, which I don't have. I live with three children under ten, and going through the cold months without gas isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $100 goes: • Water arrears: $75 • Reconnection and late fees: $10 • Down payment on a payment plan: $15 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  1. Quick update: $125 raised so far (125%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($70 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 45% funded and the plan for down payment on a payment plan is now scheduled.

    • Hope things get better soon, Vishal. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Mumbai
