Let's build a free library and reading room together in Faisalabad
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $100 for materials.
🇵🇰 Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan1,339 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $100.
It will serve about 249 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $100 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Praying for you, Zubair. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Faisalabad.
is there anything that isn't money that would help Zubair?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about permits and inspections, advice is welcome too. Thanks for looking so closely.
Sending love, Zubair. This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Thinking of you. More neighborhoods should do this. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Scranton.
How is Zubair doing now?
Stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.
