I'm caring for my father, who's 77. After a fall and hip fracture Lars can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Lars desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Lars worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $1,700
• Medication and prescriptions: $540
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $310
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $350

Stay strong, Johan. This could happen to any of us. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
