Allentown

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,800. It will serve about 289 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $3,800 goes: • Materials: $2,600 • Permits and inspections: $390 • Safety equipment and signage: $300 • Tools hire and delivery: $510 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Mohit

Updates from Mohit

Good news. Because of your gifts ($154 in total) the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Thank you all. We're at 3% now ($114). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
