Let's build a community fridge together in Jakarta Selatan
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $400 for materials.
Anywhere in the world351 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 412 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $270
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
Glad we found this place.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ika
keep going, Ika. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Bandung donated after I showed her your page
You're not alone, Ika. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update. Blessings
rooting for you, Ika. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Put this on a community board in Tema this morning. Love from Tema.
Thinking of you and your family. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.
