Legal fees for Theodoros's asylum application in Piraeus
An asylum application deadline is approaching and Theodoros can't afford the lawyer.
Anywhere in the world2,758 views
Theodoros is facing an asylum application. The hearing is scheduled for October, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $1,850. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Theodoros has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at the Piraeus Community Legal Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Theodoros could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $100
• Filing and biometrics fees: $440
• Attorney retainer: $1,310
With deep gratitude,
Antonios

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Theodoros?
Hope this works out for you. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
how is Theodoros doing now?
Hang in there, Antonios. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 10 people at work. Greetings from Patna.
So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings.
