Hannah was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in June. The oncology team at Cape Coast Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Hannah is 52, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Cape Coast Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,350
• Scans and lab work: $240
• Transport to Cape Coast Regional Medical Center: $155
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70
• Household costs while unable to work: $135
