Legal fees for Katherine's residency renewal in San Diego
Katherine needs $900 for filing fees and representation in a residency renewal before the March deadline.
🇺🇸 California, United States1,136 views
Katherine is facing a residency renewal. The hearing is scheduled for March, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $900. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Katherine has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Katherine could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $900 goes:
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $170
• Filing and biometrics fees: $560
• Certified translations and document copies: $170
Every share and every dollar helps.
