Legal fees for Julian's citizenship application in Dayton
A citizenship application deadline is approaching and Julian can't afford the lawyer.
Anywhere in the world536 views
Julian is facing a citizenship application. The hearing is scheduled for November, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $3,100. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Julian has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at Dayton Welcome Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Julian could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $2,350
• Filing and biometrics fees: $410
• Certified translations and document copies: $240
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $100
Thanks for being kind about this.

reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Yonkers.
