Legal fees for Isla's citizenship application in San Jose
Help Isla cover the fees of a citizenship application so She can stay with her family.
🇺🇸 United States589 views
Isla is facing a citizenship application. The hearing is scheduled for August, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $3,500. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Isla has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at San Jose Welcome Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Isla could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
The money goes to the immigration attorney's trust account and the court filing office. I'll upload receipts with sensitive details removed.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Filing and biometrics fees: $580
• Certified translations and document copies: $250
• Attorney retainer: $2,670
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thinking of you and your family. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
