The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Iztapalapa is running low just as demand rises; $550 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Tuesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 197 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Iztapalapa market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $550 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $100
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $320
• Baby formula and diapers: $130

Quick update: $101 raised so far (18%). the first invoice got paid this week. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
