Plant 993 native trees around the Jacaranda riverbank in Thane
Help us clean and replant the Jacaranda riverbank before the November planting window closes.
🇮🇳 India504 views
The Jacaranda riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 30 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 110 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $150 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $80
• Waste removal and skip hire: $50
• Signage and educational materials: $20
Glad we found this place.

Wishing you peace, Janani. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. All the best.
hang in there, Janani. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
