Laparoscopic endometriosis surgery for Prakash: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled laparoscopic endometriosis surgery in June is out of reach without help covering $1,050 of the cost.

Prakash was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in March. The surgeon at Pune Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,400, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my father has been in and out of Pune Community Hospital since March. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Prakash struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Prakash won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $590
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $200
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $90
• Post-operative medication: $35
• Physiotherapy sessions: $55
• Travel and lodging for the family: $80
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Thanks for sharing this, Latha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Bucaramanga donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Bucaramanga.
