Help Carlos keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
The the Second Helping pantry in Petrópolis is running low just as demand rises; $650 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 333 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 31% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Petrópolis market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $650 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $260
• Baby formula and diapers: $110
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Hope it all works out. Shared it with a few friends. Love from Los Angeles!
Wishing you peace, Carlos. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Take care.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care
