After a car accident that kept me from work for 4 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Friday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,500. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by January, we must leave. I've 1 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent. Where the $3,500 goes: • Late fees and court costs: $330 • First month of rent as a buffer: $620 • Rent arrears (3 months): $2,550 Thanks for being kind about this. - Waylon

Praying for you, Waylon. Hope this works out for you. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care.
