Keep a roof over Sorcha's head in Cork
After a car accident, Sorcha is 3 months behind on rent and has a 10-day notice to quit from the landlord.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 12 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,650.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $1,000
• Utilities in arrears: $170
• Rent arrears (3 months): $1,480

Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 23 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
you're not alone, Sorcha. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out
