Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Monday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 149 each week. Donations have dropped by about 32% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Braunschweig market and keep every receipt. Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $1,450 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $340 • Baby formula and diapers: $500 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $610 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. All the best.
