Keep a roof over Allan's head in Taguig
After a delayed insurance payout, Allan is 3 months behind on rent and has a final eviction notice from the landlord.
🇵🇭 Philippines777 views
After a sudden layoff at the textile factory, Allan fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $800.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Allan has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $800 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $540
• Late fees and court costs: $35
• Utilities in arrears: $60
• First month of rent as a buffer: $165

Wishing you peace. Looking forward to the next update. Wish I lived closer to Shinjuku so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Calgary.
how is Allan doing now?
Hope things get better soon, Jocelyn. Hope this works out for you.
This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Taguig.
Hang in there. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
Keep going, Jocelyn. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Barranquilla but we're thinking of you.
Wishing you peace, Jocelyn. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
