Keep a roof over Aisha's head in Embakasi
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Aisha needs $850 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Embakasi.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $850.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by August, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $610
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $50
• First month of rent as a buffer: $160
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Praying for you, Aisha. Your post was clear and honest. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Riyadh.
So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Embakasi.
Sending love. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings

Good luck, Aisha. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Blessings!
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Embakasi.
Hope it all works out, Aisha. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Embakasi.
I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless
Thinking of you, Aisha. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
