Justice shouldn't depend on a bank balance: Stefan's wage-theft claim
Stefan needs $1,500 for filing fees and representation in a wage-theft claim before the November deadline.

I'm facing a wage-theft claim. My hearing is scheduled for November, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $1,500. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at the Södertälje Community Legal Centre has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $100
• Attorney retainer: $1,200
• Certified translations and document copies: $200

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Stefan.
Sure. The biggest one is court-appointed interpreter and travel, $100. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
