I'm caring for me, who's 94. After a diagnosis of dementia Jun can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Jun desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Jun worked all of his life as a bus driver, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $850 goes: • Part-time carer (six months): $630 • Medication and prescriptions: $65 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $35 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $120 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
