Intan was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in January. The surgeon at Jakarta Barat University Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,450, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,000 short. my wife has been in and out of Jakarta Barat University Hospital since January. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,450 is more than we can find. While we wait, Intan struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Intan won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
