House fire that spread across the block in New York: help the families of Orchard Lane rebuild
Neighbors in the families of Orchard Lane are rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the families of Orchard Lane on 22 December. My home was one of 27 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $7,900 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,800
• Food parcels for displaced families: $640
• Roofing sheets and timber: $4,750
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $710
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
Updates from Wayne
Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($493). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward food parcels for displaced families.

Sending good thoughts, Wayne. Hope you get there
Sending strength, Wayne. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Sent it to 23 people at work. Love from San Jose
