Wekesa is one term away from finishing a master's in public health but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $700.

Wekesa is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at the Nairobi Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700.
The registrar has said Wekesa can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Wekesa has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Wekesa would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Wekesa isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Nairobi Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.

• Outstanding tuition balance: $425
