Waylon was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at the Edinburgh Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Waylon is 53, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Edinburgh Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $8,250 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $1,150
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,750
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $350
