Roofing help wanted: Rafiq's home in Dhaka
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Dhaka?
🇧🇩 Dhaka, Bangladesh1,031 views
I'm a widowed grandmother living in Dhaka. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $290, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Glad we found this place.

keep going, Rafiq. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Khon Kaen.

Wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Dhaka!
Sending strength, Rafiq. Shared this with my family. My neighbor in Ikeja donated after I showed her your page. Blessings
