Vishal was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at the Mumbai Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Vishal is 36, worked as a bus conductor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Mumbai Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,850 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,000 • Scans and lab work: $260 • Transport to the Mumbai Oncology Institute: $175 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110 • Household costs while unable to work: $305 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Mohit

  • You're not alone, Mohit. Shared it with a few friends. I hope December is when things finally get easier.

    • hope it all works out, Mohit. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
