Theresa was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in April. The surgeon at Obuasi Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,050, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $750 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Obuasi Regional Medical Center since April. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,050 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Theresa struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Theresa won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
