Stijn was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in December. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,350, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $950 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since December. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,350 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Stijn struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Stijn won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Stijn.
Sure. The biggest one is physiotherapy sessions, $340. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
