Charlotte, my wife, passed away on 22 September after a stroke. She was 38 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $4,150 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 29 September. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Charlotte to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt. Where the $4,150 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $2,750 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $720 • Transport of the deceased: $420 • Memorial gathering for the family: $260 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Renate

Thank you. If you're in Regensburg I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.

  • wishing you the best. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Pune so I could bring a meal.

    • you're not alone, Renate. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We're a small family in San Antonio but we're thinking of you.

      • sending good thoughts, Renate. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
