After osteoarthritis in the right knee, Rashid was cleared for knee replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Rashid was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in April. The surgeon at Johannesburg Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,800, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,900 short. my brother has been in and out of Johannesburg Regional Medical Center since April. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,800 is more than we can find. While we wait, Rashid struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Rashid won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,900 goes: • Physiotherapy sessions: $130 • Travel and lodging for the family: $75 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $800 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $895 Glad we found this place.
