A fish stall in Accra needs help replacing a freezer and scales after a storm that collapsed the roof.

Accra
For four years I have run a fish stall in Accra. In July, a storm that collapsed the roof took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $600 goes: • Working capital for the first month: $60 • Replacing a freezer and scales: $450 • Initial stock: the first catch: $90 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Updates from Nathaniel

  1. Small update. $334 so far, I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($214 in total) I made the first payment toward initial stock: the first catch. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($137 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
