Mukasa is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a pharmacy diploma at Kasarani University, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $500.
The registrar has said Mukasa can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Mukasa has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Mukasa would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Mukasa isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Kasarani University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $500 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $165
• Final term tuition: $250
• Exam and lab fees: $50
• Textbooks and materials: $35
Every share and every dollar helps.
