Help Melanie with work-permit appeal filing and attorney fees
A work-permit appeal deadline is approaching and Melanie can't afford the lawyer.
🇩🇪 Berlin, Berlin, Germany3,791 views
Melanie is facing a work-permit appeal. The hearing is scheduled for April, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $3,300. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Melanie has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Melanie could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $2,350
• Filing and biometrics fees: $630
• Certified translations and document copies: $210
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $110
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Keep going, Lina. Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Cologne donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
