Melanie was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in July. The surgeon at Liverpool General Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,050, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $3,250 short. my mother has been in and out of Liverpool General Hospital since July. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,050 is more than we can find. While we wait, Melanie struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Melanie won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
