Help me through 8 rounds of treatment for cervical cancer
Bello is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 Nigeria433 views
In May I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. My oncology team at Onitsha Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 5 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 28, I worked as a bakery worker until May, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Onitsha Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $550
• Scans and lab work: $185
• Transport to Onitsha Regional Medical Center: $70
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95
• Household costs while unable to work: $200
Every share and every dollar helps.

Hang in there, Bello. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes!
Wishing you peace. I hope things turn around soon. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care.
