Márcia is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Márcia was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August. The oncology team at Brasília Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Márcia is 58, worked as a tailor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Brasília Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $3,150 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,350 • Scans and lab work: $175 • Transport to Brasília Regional Medical Center: $145 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $210 • Household costs while unable to work: $270 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Mateus
