Help Mandla through 6 rounds of treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Mandla is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇿🇦 Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa1,035 views
Mandla was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at Pretoria Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Mandla is 46, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Pretoria Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,300
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85
• Household costs while unable to work: $440
• Scans and lab work: $275
With deep gratitude,
Mandla
