Deepa is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Deepa was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in June. The oncology team at the Hyderabad Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Deepa is 35, worked as a bus conductor until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Hyderabad Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $950 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $155
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $580
• Transport to the Hyderabad Oncology Institute: $130
