Julián was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Buenos Aires Orthopedic Institute recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,800, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,400 short.
my son has been in and out of Buenos Aires Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,800 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Julián struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Julián won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
