Dignity in old age: caring for Sebastian
Sebastian, 85, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $2,850 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 85. After a fall and hip fracture Sebastian can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Sebastian desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Sebastian worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $1,750
• Medication and prescriptions: $670
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $210
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $220
