Jade was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in November. The surgeon at Saint Luke Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,300 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Luke Hospital since November. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jade struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Jade won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
