Indira was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in May. The surgeon at Kathmandu Orthopedic Institute recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,350, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $950 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Kathmandu Orthopedic Institute since May. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,350 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Indira struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Indira won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
