Onitsha
Ife is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at Onitsha Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,000. The registrar has said Ife can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ife has a first-class average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ife would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Ife isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Onitsha Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,000 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $420 • Final term tuition: $530 • Exam and lab fees: $35 • Textbooks and materials: $15 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Uche

  • Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update.
