Galle
Harsha is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an accounting degree at the Galle Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,000. The registrar has said Harsha can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Harsha has a 3.6 average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Harsha would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Harsha isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $1,000 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $320 • Textbooks and materials: $35 • Final term tuition: $645 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Prabha
